Delete Account & Data
Last Updated: July 4, 2026
This page explains how to delete your KeySafe account (by Graypact) and all associated data. KeySafe follows a zero-knowledge architecture and has no backend server — your data lives only on your device and, if you enabled backup, in encrypted files inside a keysafe_backup folder on your own Google Drive.
1. Delete Your Account in the App
The simplest way to delete your account and all associated data is directly within the app:
- Open KeySafe and go to Settings > Delete Account.
- Confirm the action. This removes your local vault data, deletes your cloud backup from Google Drive, and disconnects your account.
Verify the deletion in your Google Drive:
- Check that the
keysafe_backup folder (which held your encrypted keysafe_data.enc vault file and any attachment files) is gone. - If you prefer to remove it yourself, you can also delete that folder manually, and revoke KeySafe's access at myaccount.google.com > Security > Third-party access. This also clears the small hidden app-data KeySafe keeps in Drive that is not visible in the normal Drive view.
2. What Is Deleted and What Is Kept
- Deleted: All of your vault data — passwords, bank details, government IDs, secure notes, saved locations, memories, and attachments — along with the link between your account and the app. Because we operate no server, we retain none of this data.
- Kept: Nothing is kept on our side. Any advertising identifiers processed by Google AdMob are held and retained by Google under Google's own retention policy, not by us.
3. Delete Only Some Data
You do not need to delete your entire account to remove data. Within the app you can delete individual entries at any time without signing out or disconnecting your Google account.
